What Our Members Say

“As a PhD student, the industry landscape felt like a black box. Attending the YP event at the NSS/MIC conference changed that. I sat across from a lead engineer at Siemens who gave me direct advice on the skills they look for. Six months later, I’m working in that exact field.” — Post-Doc Researcher, Europe

“The Mentorship Program paired me with an IEEE Fellow who has decades of experience in pulsed power. Having a sounding board outside of my immediate university circle has been invaluable for my professional confidence and technical growth.”— Junior Engineer, North America

“Being part of the NPSS Young Professionals isn’t just about the technical sessions; it’s about the community. I now have a global network of peers in Colombia, Mexico, and Japan whom I can message whenever I’m stuck on a research problem or looking for a collaboration.”— Research Scientist, Asia

“Volunteering to help organize the NESS School gave me project management experience that I simply couldn’t get in the lab. It showed my current employer that I can lead international teams and manage complex logistics.” — Laboratory Scientist & NPSS Volunteer
